“There are times when a collision looks worse than it really is when you use slow motion, but that wasn’t the case,” Redknapp said.
“It’s a clash we’ve seen in years past. I don’t know what was thinking when he jumped in with both feet. If he had hit Kamada, it would have been a straight red card.”
“The only reason Lisandro is still playing is because he made a small tackle on Kamada. I just don’t understand what you get out of that. It’s ridiculous.”
The game at Selhurst Park ended in a goalless draw, but was shown a yellow card for a two-footed challenge on Daichi Kamada in the 60th minute. Dean Henderson protested to upgrade the red card, but it was unsuccessful. However, after the game, Lisandro’s incident was heavily criticized.
